How do I get my lotion pump to pop up?

Industry News-

It's quite frustrating when your newly purchased lotion pump won't pop up no matter how much you twist it. This is usually because the internal locking mechanism is too tight, or you're not rotating it in the right way.

Several tricks to get your lotion pump working:

▪ "Locking the Neck" Rotation Method

This is the most common and effective method. Often, the lotion pump doesn't pop up because when you rotate the top pump head, the bottle cap below also rotates, canceling out the force.
Instructions: Firmly grip the threaded ring at the neck of the bottle (the part closest to the bottle body) with one hand, ensuring it doesn't move. With the other hand, press down slightly on the pump head and then rotate it forcefully counterclockwise. You should usually hear a "click," and it will pop up.

▪ Disassembly and Forceful Unlocking Method

If the above method doesn't work, there might be insufficient friction inside the bottle.
Instructions: Unscrew the entire lotion pump from the bottle. Dry the straw and the parts below the cap with a towel (to prevent slipping). Firmly grip the slender plastic shaft directly above the straw with one hand, and twist the large head above with the other hand. Without liquid interference, it's easier to get a good grip.

▪ Warm Water Soaking and Softening Method

Sometimes, the internal sealing ring is too tightly packed during manufacturing, or dried material is sticking to the rotating shaft.
Instructions: Put the entire unscrewed pump head into warm water for three to five minutes. Warm water can slightly soften the plastic and lubricate the internal structure. After soaking, dry it and try the rotation methods described above again.

▪ The "Press First, Then Twist" Trick

Some lotion pumps have a special design that requires releasing a downward pressure first.
Instructions: Try pressing the pump head all the way down, without letting go. While holding it down, rotate it in the direction of the arrow (usually counterclockwise). Sometimes this "pressure release" can instantly activate the internal spring mechanism.
